Welcome to Price Peek, a new blog series that explores real estate across Utah by examining different price points in select neighborhoods. One installment may look at million dollar ski homes in Park City, another may highlight affordable homes in Ogden. By providing these small snapshots, we hope to help bring the current state of Utah’s real estate market into focus.
First up, Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City, or the Crossroads of the West, is the state’s capital for good reason. This is a city that has a lot of energy and is constantly developing and growing. Employees of internationally recognized companies such as Huntsman Corporation and Adobe call Salt Lake City home. And residents are never lacking things to do, with year-round events like the ever-so-popular Sundance Film Festival, Utah Arts Festival, Utah State Fair and Salt Lake Comic Con.
Being easy on the eyes has never been a problem for Salt Lake City, and many who come for a visit get so enamored by the city’s beauty and atmosphere, that they end up returning and making it their permanent home.
Other reasons people are moving to Salt Lake City? Well, there’s the fact that there are plenty of jobs available and home prices are pretty affordable compared to other major urban cities in the country.
Knowing all of that, we were curious to find out how much house one afford in Salt Lake City with a generous budget of $600,000 (or slightly over/under). Here’s what we found:
