Several members of the Coldwell Banker Utah Management Team attended the Utah Economic Forum where lead economists from around the state contributed their thoughts on Utah’s economy and their projections for 2016.
The economists all shared the same core belief that Utah has a stable economy and that steady growth will continue for 2016. According to research at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at The University of Utah, Utah’s job growth is the fastest in the nation and the unemployment rate is the 7th lowest. In fact, Utah led the nation in job growth 9 out of 12 months in 2015.
From a real estate perspective, the report is favorable as well. In 2015, Utah’s house prices rebounded past pre-recession prices and foreclosure rates were well below the national average.
Governor Gary Herbert delivered the biggest news of the session for Coldwell Banker. He said that from 2009 – 2015, Utah’s population growth was the 3rd highest in the nation.
That means more people need places to live than almost anywhere in the country. With nearly 700 Independent Sales Associates across Utah, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage can help families find their next home in this blooming state.
