Veteran REALTOR® Stacey Staley has been named the new director of training at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Utah.

“Stacey has the perfect combination of teaching, management and sales skills to really take our already successful skill development program to even greater heights,” said Chris Jensen, President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “She has an energetic and fun approach to teaching and coaching, and the on-the-ground experience as a top real estate professional to help new Sales Associates truly succeed in their own careers.”

We recently caught up with Stacey to ask her about everything from her best piece of real estate advice to some of her favorite hobbies and pastimes.

Stacey having some fun around the office. Thanks Relocation for digging up this beauty!

Did you have past experience as teacher or coach before real estate?

A humorous coaching experience was volunteering, several years ago, to coach my four-year-old daughter’s soccer team with no athletic ability or experience. I quickly learned that all you had to do was yell, ’Kick it that way!’ I wish real estate coaching were as easy!

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I love offering support to new Sales Associates and watching their careers get off the ground. I’m really looking forward to that!

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone just getting started in real estate?

Treat it like a business and always operate from a schedule.

What’s one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you first started in real estate?

I actually received lots of great advice when I first got started. It just took me several months to realize how great it really was and to quit trying to reinvent the wheel and instead implement what my mentors were trying to teach me.

Can you tell us a little more about your involvement with the Utah Real Estate School?

I taught the pre-licensing classes on encumbrances for two years.

What does your typical day look like?

I’m conducting skill development sessions at least two days per week, sometimes more. The days not spent in skill development are spent coaching, advising and supporting Coldwell Banker Independent Sales Associates.

Quick-fire round!

What’s your favorite Utah day trip?

Day trip would be Park City and weekend trip would be Capital Reef.

Favorite book of all time?

To Kill A Mockingbird.

Favorite movie of all time?

While You Were Sleeping (I’ve seen it about 50 times – it’s my ’I need a break for 2 hour – go to movie‘). Close second, The Quiet Man (I’ve probably seen that one 49 times!)

Favorite pastimes?

I love to have ‘Knock, Knock’ joke sessions with the grandkids. I have the three cutest grandchildren and think the things they do (that used to drive me crazy when their parents did them) are so adorable. I can’t get enough of them. I really love stupid humor and love to laugh.

I also love to clean. Weird – but I love to crank up 70s music and clean, clean, clean…

Favorite vacation?

I enjoy vacations spent with the whole crazy family better than relaxing quiet vacations. I had never stayed in a hotel until I was 17 years old. All family vacations were spent in the mountains or desert. The first one was a Motel 6 and I thought I was in heaven!

One thing people may not know about you?

I took accordion lessons when I was a kid for eight years. If I were in Brazil I would be a rock star! Unfortunately here it’s a bit nerdy, so I keep it a secret!
