With autumn approaching, the official running events are coming to an end. But don’t go all sad-face on me…there are still several events left to take part in around the state.
Check out the 5K Thrill Seeker Experience at Thanksgiving Point on September 20. This event includes an off road run with just enough mud to get good and dirty. And, to make sure that you remember you are not there to play, they throw in a bunch of skill obstacles designed by Hollywood stunt producers. Despite the name, this is a family-friendly event, recommended for those ages 7+.
Or, maybe you want to head down to Southern Utah. Get yourself to Moab and take part in the AXS Adventure Xstream Race on October 4. A 30-hour extravaganza (or torture chamber!) of mountain biking, kayaking, trail running, rappelling and canyoneering…this is for all the hard core, push through the pain, I can’t feel my face, actual Ninja Warriors out there who just can’t get enough of extreme sports!
If you’re feeling a little bit country, the Boot Scootin’ Boogie Run, also on October 4, is a western themed mud run with obstacles like rope wrangling, hay mound hopping and cowpie slingling.
For my money, the biggest challenge might just be the Dawn of the Undead Zombie Run on October 25. This one takes place in Eagle Mountain. Fake blood, lots of chomping teeth and dinner. That is to say YOU might be dinner!
What is your favorite outdoor activity to get in before the snow flies?
