With summer winding down and the number of sunny weekends to spend away from the homestead numbering fewer and fewer, a great choice for some fun this weekend would be the Moab Music Festival. It runs through September 8and is one of the most amazingly beautiful venues for music in the entire country.
Take in the scenic locale as you listen to a variety of music stylings…jazz, opera, classical, Latin. This event has it all. And, really, where else can you go on a musical hike or a musical rafting trip? Talk about thinking outside of the box!
Now in its 22nd year, the Moab Music Festival was founded by New York based musicians Michael Barrett and Leslie Tomkins. This husband and wife team fell in love with the red rocks of Moab while visiting on a rare vacation and they were inspired to combine the magical landscape with the joys of music-making. It was also a way to ensure that they would return year after year!
The goal of the Moab Music Festival has always been music education and cultural enrichment for both the people who call Moab home and those who pass through. The festival is also committed to providing other educational opportunities for music lovers at other times during the year.
So, get out there and take this last chance to hear the music in Moab this season! Experience the acoustical sandstone walls, the privacy of the breezy willows and a stage made of river sand, and enjoy Moab like you have never enjoyed it before.
