It may be spring in Utah, but winter is coming to Westeros.
If you’re like me, and millions of others, you’re sitting at home right now watching the clock in anticipation of tonight’s Game of Thrones premiere. And what better way to kill the time than by daydreaming of life in the Seven Kingdoms?
Every time I watch GoT, I can’t help but imagine what it would be like ruling my own realm – assuming I lived long enough to enjoy the throne, of course. But if you put aside the fire breathing dragons, white walkers, and brutal betrayals, and instead focus on the castles, gardens and beautiful scenery, life in the Seven Kingdoms seems pretty idyllic.
So can one actually turn this daydream into reality? I think I found something that will do just nicely.
Creekcrossing, located in Holladay, Utah, would make the perfect home base for any kingdom. It has everything: beautifully landscaped grounds, a sweeping entry, stone flooring from actual castles, artisan chandeliers, and doors with 200-year-old histories. There are even balconies befitting a queen and limestone fireplaces to throw your crystal when you are trying to emphasize your point.
As Tywin Lannister would say, “Any man who must say, ‘I am the king’ is no true king.” But for a mere $14,900,000 you could let this modern-day castle do the talking.
Season 4 of Game of Thrones premiers tonight at 9pm on HBO. Will you be watching?
