West Jordan Realtor Melanie White Named Child Advocate of the Year

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Realtor honored for work with children

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, is pleased to announce that Melanie White, a sales associate in its West Jordan office, was awarded the Child Advocate of the Year award by the Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU) organization.  White received the award earlier this month at a fundraiser gala held at La Caille Restaurant in Sandy.

White was nominated for the Child Advocate of the Year award by Richard Paul Evans, the founder of The Christmas Box House International, an organization devoted to building shelters and providing services for abused and neglected children.  The organization has helped more than 30,000 children who have been housed in Christmas Box facilities in Moab, Vernal, Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah and Lucre, Peru.  White has been volunteering with The Christmas Box House for 10 years and helping with fundraising events.

“I am so proud of Melanie for being recognized as the Child Advocate of the Year,” said Stacey Staley, manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s West Jordan office.  “Aside from being an outstanding real estate professional, Melanie is a caring and generous member of the community, who is sincerely dedicated to helping children who have been neglected and abused.  Her involvement with the Christmas Box is just an example of how she goes above and beyond to help those in need.  She is truly deserving of this honor.”

PCAU is a non-profit organization and state-wide agency committed to breaking the cycle of child abuse through education and training.  It has offered leadership in the development of child abuse prevention programs and services since 1982 and is the state’s largest nonprofit child abuse prevention organization.  It works to educate Utah children and community members about child abuse prevention, sexual harassment, shaken baby syndrome, teen dating violence and much more by using programs, services, public awareness, advocacy and networking.

Always working to help her community, White volunteers with organizations to help children and the elderly, is active with the Taylorsville Exchange and helps the local fire department.

White works with her mother, Linda Hardman, out of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in West Jordon which is located at 9071 South 1300 West, Suite 200 and can be reached at 801.569.8880.  White may be reached directly at 801.688.3810 or via e-mail at Melanie.White@UtahHomes.com.
